Distributive Education Clubs of America
Prepares students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Most competitive events pair a role-play or case study with a judged, timed presentation to business professionals.
Future Business Leaders of America
A business and leadership organization for middle and high school students. Competitive events range from objective tests to judged presentations, interviews, and prepared speeches on business topics.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
Focused on family and consumer sciences. STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) include illustrated talks and presentations judged on both content and delivery.
SkillsUSA
Serves students in trade, technical, and skilled-service career fields. Alongside hands-on technical contests, many events include a judged presentation or prepared speech component.
Technology Student Association
A STEM-focused organization. Competitive events often require presenting an engineering, design, or technology project to a panel of judges in a fixed time.
National FFA Organization
An agricultural education and leadership organization. Prepared public speaking, extemporaneous speaking, and creed speaking are long-standing, judged individual events.
HOSA – Future Health Professionals
For students pursuing health-science careers. Many competitive events involve presenting a health topic, project, or simulated patient case to judges within a strict time limit.
National Speech & Debate Association
The largest national organization for speech and debate. Events include original oratory, extemporaneous speaking, prepared and improvised interpretation, and multiple debate formats.
Model United Nations
Students represent a country or role in a simulated UN committee. Delegates deliver opening speeches, respond to moderated caucus questions, and negotiate resolutions on the record.
